How CMC Helped Hrezo Engineering Modernize Its Brand Without Losing Its Legacy

When people think about engineering firms, branding usually isn't the first thing that comes to mind. But a company's website, messaging, and visual identity often create the first impression long before a client picks up the phone.

That was the opportunity with Hrezo Engineering.

Founded in 1983, Hrezo Engineering has built a reputation for exceptional engineering expertise across commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential projects. Their portfolio speaks for itself, but their online presence no longer reflected the quality of work they were producing.

The goal wasn't to reinvent the company. It was to create a brand experience that matched the professionalism, expertise, and trust they had spent decades building.

Project Scope

For this project, I partnered with Hrezo Engineering to deliver a complete brand refresh, including:

  • Brand strategy and messaging

  • Comprehensive brand guide

  • Website redesign and page layout

  • Website copywriting

  • Custom website graphics

  • SEO-focused project blog writing

  • Visual identity development

  • Creative direction for updated team headshots (with photography assistance from Carol)

Looking Beyond the Website

While the project began as a website redesign, it quickly became clear that a stronger online presence would require more than updated pages.

A great website doesn't exist on its own. It should be supported by consistent branding, clear messaging, engaging visuals, and content that tells your story. Instead of treating each piece separately, I approached the project as a complete brand refresh.

Every decision was made with one question in mind:

How can we make Hrezo Engineering's decades of expertise immediately visible to someone visiting their website for the first time?

Building a Strong Foundation

The first step was creating a comprehensive brand guide.

This established the visual direction for the company, including typography, color palette, graphic elements, and messaging that could be used consistently across the website and future marketing materials. Having these standards in place ensures every piece of communication feels connected and reinforces the professionalism of the brand.

With that foundation established, I redesigned the website to create a cleaner, more intuitive experience. Services were reorganized, navigation was simplified, and the content was rewritten to communicate Hrezo's expertise in a way that was approachable without losing the technical credibility their industry requires.

The result was a website that not only looks modern but also makes it easier for potential clients to understand what Hrezo Engineering does and why they're qualified to do it.

Telling the Story Behind the Projects

One of my favorite parts of this project was developing content that showcased Hrezo's work.

Engineering projects are full of technical details, but what truly connects with potential clients is the story behind the work.

I wrote project-focused blogs that highlighted the challenges each project presented, the engineering solutions developed by the Hrezo team, and the impact those solutions had. Rather than overwhelming readers with technical specifications, the blogs were designed to demonstrate expertise through storytelling while also improving the website's search engine visibility.

These stories transformed completed projects into valuable marketing assets that continue working long after the projects themselves are finished.

Creating a Consistent Visual Identity

A cohesive brand extends beyond words.

Throughout the project, I designed custom graphics that supported the new visual identity and created consistency across the website. These design elements help guide visitors through the site while reinforcing Hrezo Engineering's professionalism and attention to detail.

We also wanted visitors to connect with the people behind the company.

To accomplish this, I coordinated updated professional headshots for the Hrezo team. Working alongside my aunt, Carol, who assisted with the photography, we captured authentic, approachable images that brought a personal element to the website and helped introduce the experienced professionals behind the business.

Redesigning the Website

With the brand guide established, new team headshots captured, and project blogs written, it was time to bring everything together through a complete website redesign.

When I begin any website project, I start by identifying the purpose of the site and outlining everything the client needs it to accomplish. A website should be more than an online brochure. It should clearly communicate the brand, guide visitors to the information they need, and encourage them to take the next step.

Hrezo Engineering's existing website consisted of a brief three-section homepage, an outdated About Us page, and a basic team page. Together, we identified opportunities to better showcase the company's expertise and improve the overall user experience.

The redesigned website included a fully developed homepage, a refreshed About Us page, a comprehensive Services page, an updated Team page featuring new professional headshots, dedicated project and blog pages to highlight completed work, and a streamlined Contact page that makes it easy for potential clients to get in touch.

Throughout the redesign, I incorporated SEO-focused keywords into the website copy, updated the site's favicon and visual details for a more polished brand experience, and optimized the site's structure and navigation to create a user-friendly experience across all devices.

The result is a website that not only reflects Hrezo Engineering's decades of expertise but also provides a strong foundation for future marketing and continued business growth.

More Than a Deliverable

Hrezo Engineering already had decades of experience, a talented team, and an impressive body of work. My role was to organize, communicate, and present those strengths in a way that immediately builds trust with potential clients.

When branding, messaging, photography, design, and content all work together, they create an experience that feels intentional. That's the difference between simply having a website and having a brand presence that supports your business goals.

Every business has a story worth telling, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help Hrezo Engineering tell theirs through thoughtful strategy, intentional design, and authentic storytelling.
